Catherine is a qualified psychotherapist registered with PACFA and ACA, with years of experience in clinical healthcare. Her academic foundation in counselling psychology and health sciences is enriched by research into medical-related anxiety and the links between sexual health and masculinity across life stages.
Catherine helps individuals and couples handle the challenges of chronic illness, new diagnoses, and physical changes. Her focus includes alleviating procedural anxiety, facilitating adjustment after diagnosis, and supporting recovery. She also provides care for sexual health concerns, including erectile function, intimacy issues, and the impact of health on masculinity and self-worth.

"A place to talk about the things that are difficult to say".

Having worked within the medical sector, Catherine understands the uncertainty and anxiety of the healthcare journey — from diagnosis and treatment to procedures, recovery, and adjustment. Where appropriate and with client consent, she works alongside existing healthcare providers to support a coordinated understanding of the psychological and relational aspects of a client's experience.

Catherine recognizes health changes affect more than the body. Diagnosis, treatment or physical shifts influence identity, confidence, and relationships. For men, sexual health changes can challenge beliefs about masculinity and independence; for couples, they often create pressure or withdrawal. Her non-judgmental space helps clients understand these shifts and develop new ways of relating to themselves and others.
At the core of Catherine's practice is unconditional positive regard, fostering a relationship where clients speak openly about confronting or embarrassing experiences. She utilizes evidence-informed CBT, DBT and ACT, alongside psychodynamic exploration of identity and patterns. Somatic approaches support body reconnection. Therapy may include behavioral strategies, psychoeducation, exposure-based work, values exploration and, where clinically appropriate, sensate-focus for intimacy. Partner-inclusive sessions are used when helpful and welcomed by the client.
