Rebuilding confidence when life, health or relationships change

The Possibility of Renewal

Phoenix represents the possibility of rebuilding when life, health, sexuality, or relationships change. We don't always get to choose what happens to our bodies or our circumstances.

We can, however, find ways to understand what has happened, reconnect with ourselves and the people we love, and discover what comes next.

What to Expect in Therapy

Feel safe

“I can discuss sensitive concerns without judgement.”

“I came to therapy because anxiety was starting to affect my work, sleep and relationships. Catherine helped me understand what was happening rather than just telling me to relax. I now have practical ways of managing it and feel much more like myself again.”

“I initially came for anxiety, but our sessions helped me realise how much of myself I had lost while looking after everyone else. Catherine gave me space to work through things without telling me what I should do. I’m calmer, more confident and much better at recognising my own needs.”

  • “I was extremely embarrassed discussing erectile difficulties and had put off getting help. Catherine made the conversation feel surprisingly normal. There was no judgement or awkwardness. Understanding the connection between my anxiety, confidence and sexual functioning made a huge difference.”

  • “We loved each other but had reached a point where every difficult conversation ended badly. Catherine helped us slow things down and understand what was happening underneath our reactions. We communicate differently now and feel much more connected.”

“I thought therapy wasn’t really for me and that I should be able to sort things out myself. Eventually stress, work and problems at home became too much. Catherine was easy to talk to and practical in her approach. I never felt analysed or judged.”

“Changes in sexual functioning had put enormous pressure on our relationship. Sex had become something we both worried about rather than enjoyed. Therapy helped us talk about what was happening without blame and take the pressure off performance. We started reconnecting as a couple, not just focusing on the problem.”

  • “I had reached the point where I was constantly worrying and second-guessing myself. Catherine helped me recognise patterns I hadn’t noticed before and gave me strategies I could actually use in everyday life. I appreciated that therapy felt warm and supportive but also practical.”

  • “I’m usually the person everyone else relies on, so admitting I wasn’t coping was difficult. Therapy gave me somewhere I didn’t have to pretend everything was fine. Catherine listened without judgement but also challenged me when I needed it. It helped me understand myself and make changes I’d been avoiding.”
